Chart Four-Twelve Events At The Tabernacle Door – The Place Of Sacrifice
This was the place where the priests were consecrated and anointed. Many events took place at the door of the tabernacle. The phrase is found 45 times in the Pentateuch but only twice in the rest of the Bible.
1. Aaron and sons were consecrated here (Exodus 29:1-37).
2. Jehovah met with Israel after their sin (Exodus 33:9-10).
3. Offerings for the laver were made here (Exodus 33:8).
4. All animal sacrifices of Israel were to be brought here to be killed (Leviticus 1:3; Leviticus 3:2; Leviticus 4:4; Leviticus 12:6; Leviticus 17:4-9; Leviticus 19:21-22; Numbers 6:13-18).
5. All Israel were gathered here at the day of yearly cleansing (Leviticus 16).
6. Nazarite vows were completed at this door (Numbers 6).
7. Regular gatherings of Israel were at this door (Numbers 10:3).
8. God came down to meet with Israel here (Numbers 12:5).
9. Rebellions were put down here (Numbers 16:18-19; Numbers 20:6; Numbers 25:6).
10. Moses remained at the door while the plague in Israel was being brought to an end (Numbers 16:45-50).
11. Judgment took place in Israel at this door (Leviticus 27:2).
12. God's last meeting with Moses (just prior to his death) was here (Deut. 31:15).
