He Heard The Sound Of The Trumpet And Took Not Warning....

Rosh Hashanah Message 2004

September 15-16, 2004

Celebrate the Feasts Of The Lord!

TEXT: Hebrews 12:18 - For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, [19] And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more

Ezekiel 33:5 - He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that takes warning shall deliver his soul.

I want to take you back today to a time in Israel's history when Yeshua (Jesus) had revealed Himself to the nation in the flesh and yet, was rejected. God the Father, had spoke to the nation many times in her past, which spanned over 3,500 years from Moses to Christ. There were two main generations He seemed to have earmarked for great things  - the generation of Moses and the generation of Christ. Both suffered great loss and never fulfilled their destinies. THIS generation also carries on it a call of destiny that I pray we fulfill as well. Sadly, the same elements of unbelief THEN are present today, as the message of the Cross has been basically rejected. Israel rejected the same message which I will deal with more in a moment. It is these three generations and these three alone that are mentioned in the panorama of events surrounding God's plan for Man in these final days before harvest and judgment:

  • The generation of Moses

  • The generation on Earth at Jesus' First Coming

  • The generation on Earth at Jesus' Second Coming

The prophetic voice of the first generation at Sinai through Moses fell on deaf ears and hardened hearts, which was underscored and seen in the rebellion at Kadesh Barnea. (Numbers 13-14) We'll never know until we get to heaven perhaps just how much destiny and glory God was ready to pour out upon that generation of Old Covenant believers had they just believed.

God revealed Himself in miracle power more to that generation than any other outside the generations that witnessed the glory and majesty of the Son of God in the flesh, and THIS generation which carries with both a mandate and mantle to bring in the final harvest. The failure in the wilderness highlighted Israel's gross rebellion and unbelief against God and it highlights a fundamental issue with the human heart today. Miracles in themselves do not make intimate hearts for God on their own. Miracles, as great as they are, do not cause us to really trust God as we ought to, even though many would argue, "well we have to have faith if we're seeing miracles." That's true, but it's also not so true which I will deal with more in a minute. No other generation saw more than the generation of Moses and Joshua, yet when it came to cases they chose a golden calf and died in unbelief and fear at the gate of the Promised Land instead of trusting God.

Paul, when writing of this generation to the Hebrews, said they heard the gospel but didn't mix it with FAITH, and thus perished in unbelief:

Hebrews 4:1-8
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. [2] For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. [3] For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. [4] For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. [6] Seeing therefore it remained that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: [7] Again, he limited a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. [8] For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

The Father's love reached out to Israel many times, as His love reaches out to us many times, before judgment finally fell on the nation. Moses brought the Law to Israel, yet they would rather dance before a golden calf. Joshua offered them rest, yet they murmured and complained that the task was too great to enter in.

Paul said the first generation of Moses "heard the trumpet" of Mt. Sinai and could not endure it. Even Moses stood there shaking in fear and awe of this tremendous eternal moment.

The voice they heard spoke to them in such a way they said, "we can't endure this, don't speak anymore;" and God listened. The horror of Mt. Sinai is that Israel chose LAW instead of Grace. God wanted to reveal Himself to Israel through intimacy, not a set of rules He knew they could not keep. But instead of entering into rest and intimacy with the Father, Israel stood at the mount of blackness, darkness and tempest and rejected the sound of the trumpet of God's voice. Paul said it was a "voice of words."

Hebrews 12:18 - For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, [19] And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: [20] (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart; And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) [22] But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, [23] To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, [24] And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Deut 33:21 - He chose the best land for himself; the leader's portion was kept for him. When the heads of the people assembled, he carried out the Lord's righteous will, and his judgments concerning Israel."

Sadly, this is the case with so many today. We're so busy with our religious activity we don't hear the sound of the trumpet. We'd rather do our religious activity than enter into rest. We'd rather go through our religious motions and formulas instead of just resting in what Christ has done for us and seeing HIS life lived through us. Hardness of heart is a terrible condition to be in but it's a condition many are in because of SIN and unbelief. Religious unbelief is even worse and that is where Israel found herself so many times which culminated with the rejection of the generation that witnessed the revelation of God's own Son in the flesh.

Remember this about God. Before He judges a nation, or even an individual, He always brings chastisement and grace FIRST. He always gives space to repent and ample opportunity for us to make our hearts right before Him. He never moves quickly and presumptuously in bringing destruction and removing Himself totally from a situation. His long-suffering is LONG friend and you and I had better be grateful it is for if it wasn't we'd all be DEAD this very second. I get amused when I hear people claim God is a God of the second chance. God is a God of the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, 100th, 1000th, chances. God's mercy in reality never runs out, but He does reach a point many times where He WILL move in judgment and justice. The day is coming when the gloves will come off and this earth will experience His wrath.

Many of David's Psalms highlight the fact that the earth will rejoice when this day comes:

Ps 48:11- Mount Zion rejoices, the villages of Judah are glad because of your judgments.

Ps 97:8-9 - Mt. Zion hears and rejoices  and the villages of Judah are glad  because of your judgments, O LORD.  9 For you, O LORD, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.

Ps 105:7- Great is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

Isa 26:9-10 - My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.  10 Though grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness;

Rom 11:33- Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

Rev 16:4-6- water, and they became blood. 5 Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:  "You are just in these judgments, you who are and who were, the Holy One,  because you have so judged;  6 for they have shed the blood of your saints and prophets,  and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve."

Rev 16:7-9 - And I heard the altar respond: "Yes, Lord God Almighty,  true and just are your judgments."

Rev 19:2 - for true and just are his judgments.  He has condemned the great prostitute  who corrupted the earth by her adulteries.  He has avenged on her the blood of his servants."

Ps 99:4-5- The King is mighty, he loves justice-- you have established equity; in Jacob you have done what is just and right.  5 Exalt the LORD our God  and worship at his footstool; he is holy.

Ps 89:14 - Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

Never forget what I just stated. God is merciful, but He is also just. JUSTICE and JUDGMENT are the habitation of HIS THRONE. When God passes judgment it's always laced with His just character which never condones sin. David wrote that even when the wicked are judged they learn righteousness, yet when grace is shown, they seldom do. Mt. Zion rejoices at the judgments of God. The saints will one day rejoice at His judgments as well.  Paul said His judgments are "unsearchable." We're about to enter a season when our intercession as Saints of God will be the catalyst for the coming judgments on the earth of this last generation.

Israel had hardened her heart long before Christ appeared to her in the flesh. At Sinai, they heard the sound of the trumpet and took not warning. Paul said in Hebrews they "refused" to hear the voice of God and in doing so "perished."

Hebrews 12:25 - See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

The generation on earth at the Lord's first coming did the exact same thing. Jesus had lovingly pleaded with His nation to repent of their sin and acknowledge His messianic claim to rule over them. His credentials were impeccable:

  • The Davidic lineage from which He sprang

  • The village of Bethlehem in which He was born

  • The town of Nazareth in which He was raised

  • The compassion He demonstrated

  • The courage He displayed

  • The wisdom He manifested

  • The miracles He performed

  • The message He proclaimed

  • The AUTHORITY He exhibited

John 7:46  - The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.

All the above trumpeted His Messiahship, the fulfillment of Mount Zion, that Paul spoke of in Hebrews. It was with justifiable reason, therefore, that the disciples through Jesus was going to become the King of Israel - that finally the yoke of ruthless, relentless Roman rule would be broken. At last, they believed, under the Messiah's reign Israel would once again know the greatness and glory which had been theirs almost a thousand years earlier under mighty King David. But their hopes and dreams were not aligned with that hour of history. Christ's purpose was not to destroy Rome's rule over Israel but to destroy Satan's rule over Adam's fallen race.

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Through the centuries, the Jewish leadership had corrupted the inspired writings of Moses and the prophets of Israel with their oral law and vain traditions. And now, only a vestigial skeleton of pure, God-given, Judaism remained. The religious leaders instituted laws to interpret laws. And in so doing, they developed a legalistic self-righteous system that had little resemblance to the Mosaic Covenant that God had instituted with His people. To be frank with you, God's heart at Sinai was never to give Israel "rules," but to have her in covenant relationship with Him through love and intimacy. In Christ, He offered her the same thing again. He's offering that to us today in THIS generation as well.

Many of the Pharisees then  were corrupt hypocrites. In the words of the Lord, they were, "whited sepulchers," well manicured on the outside but decaying and smelling on the inside. They had become "blind leaders of the blind." The holiness of Jesus condemned their sin, and the truth of Jesus rebuked their error. And tragically, through lies, distortion, manipulation, and false witnesses, they misled the Jewish people. This, in spite of the fact that His flawless life and selfless ministry met all the criteria set forth in the sacred writings of their ancient sages, the very Scriptures to which the Jewish leadership outwardly claimed allegiance to ultimately became the "stone of stumbling" around their necks. The very SON OF GOD stood in their midst and they refused Him on earth once again.

Matthew 23:27
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

Matthew 15:14
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

It's Always Been The Cross

In this great plan of God, the steps of God the Son, would unerringly wind their way to a hill outside the northern wall of the City of Jerusalem. There, at Golgotha, the place of the SKULL, He would, as the true Passover Lamb, "taste death for every man." (Heb. 2:9)

Hebrews 2:9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God
should taste death for every man.

Jesus knew in intimate detail what was to befall Him in less than a week at Calvary. He knew the humiliation, pain and death He was facing. With a saddened heart - amazingly, not for Himself, but for His beloved nation - He informed His disciples that He was leaving. He tempered the almost unbearable shock of His departure, however, with the certain promise of His return. To His beloved but unrepentant nation. He said,

Matthew 23:39
For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

His nation would not respond to His messianic claims then and as I write this in 2004 - I'm concerned the church of today is not responding to His claims NOW.  The second generation who refused to hear the voice of God was judged in A.D. 70 when Jerusalem was destroyed by Titus of the Roman Empire as a final testimony of what happens when a nation or individual hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning.

Israel heard the sound of the trumpet TWICE and did not respond. Before they hear the sound of the FINAL TRUMP,  great tribulation will engulf this tiny nation and they will experience one of their most horrible times of their history. Dark days are ahead for not only Israel but for all who have heard the sound of the trumpet and have not taken warning and repented. This is the message of Rosh Hashanah 2004. We must heed the sound of the warning and take cover friend. Jesus CHRIST and HIM CRUCIFIED is that cover!

The Last Generation

Psalm 102:18-22
This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord. [19] For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth; [20] To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death; [21] To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem; [22] When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.

I believe we are living in the generation that will see the SECOND coming of Jesus. Jesus addressed this final generation in Matthew 24 and 25 as He told His disciples what the signs of the times would be on earth prior to His second return. One of the earmarks of this final generation, according to Christ, would be the rebuilding of Zion, which we are witnessing at this very moment.

Psalm 102:15-16
So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. [16] When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

Matthew 24:30-31
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. [31] And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: [33] So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Jesus likened His return to the budding of the "fig" tree, a type of National Israel. He said when you see the branch tender, and putting forth leaves, know that summer is nigh and it is "NEAR," even at the doors. In 1948, Israel became a nation once again after nearly 1900 years of dispersion in the earth since nation's destruction in A.D. 70. Jesus said that the generation on earth at the time that happened would not pass until "all these things have happened."

Matthew 24:34
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled
.

The generation He spoke of was not the generation of the disciples because they died without seeing the Lord return to Earth a second time. The generation He was speaking of was the one who would be on earth at the time He returned. One full generation, which is usually about 70 years or so will end in 2018. Without trying to become a date setter, I feel comfortable enough to say that we're that close to an incredible change of events on planet Earth and in heaven. Jesus is coming SOON! JESUS IS COMING SOON! There is a sound of a trumpet going forth all over the earth at this present time that says, 'GET READY.' Prepare yourselves for the coming of the Lord.

When you read Matthew 24 you notice that the angels are going to be sent "with a great sound of a trumpet," to gather together the elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Whether the term "elect," means Israel, or believers, it really doesn't matter. Something BIG is about to happen and happen soon friend. Time is precious right now. I don't think anyone reading this journal who lives in America is the same person you were prior to what happened to our nation on 9-11-2001. That infamous day changed us all I hope in seeing just how temporal our lives on earth really are. We are not promised tomorrow friend. Our life is but a vapor. There is a SOUND being heard throughout the land today from God's Spirit for the church to "repent," and to open our hearts to JESUS so He can do His mighty works in the earth.

There are 12 earmarks I believe of this final generation that herald the fact the Lord's coming is close. Let me briefly discuss them with you for a second.

The last generation on earth prior to the Lord's return will:

1. ....have an earnest, abandoned passion for Jesus and little or no tolerance for lifeless religion.

2. .......rediscover the need and joy of hearing the voice of the Lord. They will be empowered by the inner voice of the Spirit and GROUNDED in the WORD.

3. ........be uniquely equipped for service for global evangelism and release of God's glory upon the earth.

4. ....be more concerned about growing people, than growing churches. Relationships will be paramount.

5. ...be in many ways the most creative and have a message of power unlike any other.

6. ...be intentional in reconciliation and embrace the strengths found in other cultures. We will seek to honor others and learn from them instead of tearing down and isolating ourselves from those who can enrich our lives.

7. ...be a generation who have a mature understanding of spiritual warfare. We will begin to understand the interactions of the spirit realm and be more adept at receiving help from angels and resisting dark powers. We will understand the CROSS and know that the blood of Christ has destroyed the powers of darkness (Col. 2:14-15).

8. ...be a generation focusing on the "city" church, not just our own congregations. They will see their church as one expression of the church of the Lord Jesus in the city.

9. ...be a generation that embraces the value of God's SILENCE in the secret place and will not manipulate and contrive false signs and wonders. Intercession will take on a whole new realm of meaning when we "listen" to what God is telling us, and stop telling GOD what to do!

10. ....be a generation called not just to give to the poor, but to be in relationship with the poor. Causal giving to soothe our consciences will be replaced by vital action, where our lives will intertwine with the poor, and we will see we have lessons to learn that only they can teach us.

11. .....be a generation of true worship. Cultural restrictions on worship will fall, replaced with a Biblical understanding of the experience and POWER of worship.  Our hour long services on Sunday will be replaced by days of extended waiting in His presence.

12. ....be a generation that understands ISRAEL in the plans and purposes of the Lord and rediscover our Jewish roots of the faith. Gentiles won't be called on to become Jews and Jews won't be called on to become Gentiles. But we will both see each other, not as enemies as we have in the past, but as vital partners of MINISTRY and PURPOSE.

Rosh Hashanah Is A Call To Repentance

Ezekiel 33:5 - He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that takes warning shall deliver his soul.

Rosh Hashanah in the Jewish feast calendar is Israel's call to repentance.  Passover was the begininng of redemption, purchased through the blood of the Lamb, foreshadowing the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 1:29). Pentecost, is the birthday of the church when the Holy Spirit came and dwelt in our hearts and lives. There is a long period between Pentecost and Trumpets signifying Israel's long period of estrangement from God and life in exile. We're living in the Feast of Pentecost, waiting on the Feast of Trumpets. The next great event on Planet Earth is the rapture of the church. Paul said it would take place with the SOUND of a trumpet:

1 Thes. 4:14-18
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Cor. 15:51-55
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. [53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. [54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. [55] O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

The fall feasts begin with the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) presenting a call to repentance and an opportunity to be reconciled with God on the Day of Atonement ten days later. Those ten days between Trumpets and Atonement are known as the "days of awe." This is where every Jewish person searches their heart and seeks to be reconciled with God and his neighbor. Five days after Yom Kippur comes Succoth, or the Feast of Tabernacles. Yom Kippur are also began with the sound of a trumpet.

In Numbers 10, Moses was given instructions to make two silver trumpets to be used in this great event. Silver speaks of redemption. The voice of heaven will always be heard proclaiming the good news of what JESUS did for us at the cross. God's plan of redemption is the message we must carry to the world in this final hour. The sound of the trumpet for THIS generation is the gospel. It's the anointing and conviction of the HOLY SPIRIT to a world gone astray from God and a church which has lost its way through vain deceit and men's traditions.

Israel would know the sound of a trumpet would signal the time to move, or to "set out," as the Bible says. The sound was for the "calling of the assembly," of the community and the "journeying," of the camps. Sounds like the rapture to me. Glory to God. The thing Israel didn't know is WHEN the sound would come. The second blast was not going to be with the same signal as the first, thus the need to always be ready, diligent and listening for the sound of the first trumpet so they would know when the move with the second.

Numbers 10:1-8
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, [2] Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. [3] And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. [4] And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee. [5] When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward. [6] When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. [7] But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. [8] And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.

The trumpet blast would be heard, but there would not be a sound of the alarm to move. That is how it is today friend. We have HEARD the sound of gospel preaching for 2,000 years in this generation. Granted, there is not much true gospel going forth any more, and that is a great tragedy. But there are still men and women of God preaching the word, calling people to repentance and to live holy lives before God. If you're reading this journal, you're hearing the sound of the trumpet. You're hearing the sound of the HOLY SPIRIT say "REPENT," be "born again," if you have never come to Christ. You're hearing the sound of the SPIRIT say to you if you're a believer, "REPENT," and make sure "sin is not having dominion over you." Make sure there is nothing in your heart today that is not pleasing in the sight of God. CHANGE, do the first works again if necessary, but what ever you do, be ready because the alarm is about to sound.

The watchman sounded the trumpet to Israel when her enemies were coming. If the man or woman who heard the sound of the trumpet didn't take heed, they perished, but the watchman's soul was delivered. If the watchman didn't blow the trumpet, then they perished too but the watchman was going to be held accountable for the loss of innocent lives because he didn't blow the trumpet.

Jer 6:8 - Take warning, O Jerusalem, or I will turn away from you  and make your land desolate  so no one can live in it."

PREACHER, pick that bible up and start blowing the trumpet of HOLY SPIRIT preaching again. Stop giving your people book reports on Sunday morning or the latest fads you saw last night on TBN and the Shopping Channel. Stop giving your people a gospel that requires NOTHING from them and soothes them into seeking to build up their "self" esteem. Preach a gospel that convicts of sin, or judgment and of righteousness. PREACH THE WORD, PREACH THE WORD, preach the WORD!

And I'm going to say it - by preaching the word, I don't mean taking one or two scriptures and twisting them to your sorted view of Christian living to make people think God is a grand Santa Claus and Jesus Christ is our heavenly  bellboy. That is sending people to hell in a hand basket friend. In this hour that we live in which is a PERILOUS HOUR on many fronts, we need an ANCHOR for the soul and that anchor is CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED. "Well, brother McDonald, we have to give our people more than just that 'cross' stuff. I mean we got to move on from the cross and all. I mean people get bored listening just to what Jesus did for them. We want to move onto the 'deeper' things of God." Sound familiar????????? That's the devil talking. That's demon powers talking. That's false apostles talking. That's a HIRELING talking.

2 Cor. 11:1-4
Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. [2] For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. [3] But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. [4] For if he that cometh preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Galatians 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached
(the message of Christ and Him Crucified i.e. 1 Cor. 1:17) unto you, let him be accursed.

Neighbor, where we going to move on to? What are we going to talk about if we don't talk about JESUS?????????? Our "12-step programs?" Our "softball team uniform colors?" Our "choir robes?" Our "rights," to demand God do what we say?????

Friend, you better be careful you hear in these last days. If it is not the sound of the TRUE TRUMPET OF GOD in this last hour pointing you to the CROSS (and I'm talking to believers) then run from it like a South Georgia diamondback rattlesnake. There has to be a trumpet sound that calls people to repentance in this last hour. There has to be a trumpet sound that calls people to intimacy with Jesus in this last hour. Paul said "if we or an angel from heaven," come preaching another gospel than what Christ laid out as a foundation in the New Covenant, "let him be damned." That's strong language, and I'm sure some wince at that, but it's what the man said. "Accursed," means "damned to the pit of hell forever without mercy," in the original language. I think Paul was a little mad and jealous over what had happened to the Galatians. It was Jeremiah's burden for Israel before she went into Babylonian captivity:

Jer 6:10 -  To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the LORD is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.

I'm a little angry and mad about what has happened to our churches today as well. It's really hard to find a church where the Spirit is free to move and the word of God is preached like it ought to be preached. There is a great dearth of "trumpet blowers," in this last hour. We need more, we really do. I believe God is going to raise some up though and they won't be seminary-educated either. They won't have the taint of the world's system on them and the taint of men's backslidden view points on them. They will be fresh from the wilderness of intimate encounters with a holy God, breathing a holy fire, proclaiming a holy message, liberating hearts and setting captives free. If the gospel you're hearing honey don't have convicting power on it - it's not the sound of the trumpet you need to be listening to in this hour! You hear me? If you can sit in your church drinking, boozing, smoking, drugging, fornicating, being a homosexual, lying, cheating, stealing, manipulating, conniving, slandering, gossiping, tale-bearing, not forgiving your brother, and not be convicted of those sins by what you hear - you're not hearing the sound of the trumpet from heaven.

Acts 20:29-31 - I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. 30 Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. 31 So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.

The message of the true trumpet call is "REPENT." It's "forsake sin," and be washed and cleansed today in the blood of the lamb.

Ezek 3:21 - But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning, and you will have saved yourself."

Luke 13:3
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Matthew 3:3-11
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. [4] And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. [5] Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judea, and all the region round about Jordan, [6] And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? [8] Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: [9] And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. [10] And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [11] I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

That is the mantle on this last generation. If we refuse to hear the sound of the trumpet, then we will suffer the same fate as the two generations whose destinies were the same as ours. We will, to be frank, be destroyed, and God will raise up another to bring in the harvest. That is why there is a revival on I believe among our young people in many parts of America. The middle-aged church of America has become so legalistic and so self-righteous that God has had to jump right over us and open up the hearts of babes to partner with him in the upcoming outpouring of grace and power upon Planet Earth. Solomon says it's better to be a poor, but wise youth, than to be a FOOLISH KING, who no longer knows how to take warning.

Eccl 4:13 - Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to take warning. 14 The youth may have come from prison to the kingship, or he may have been born in poverty within his kingdom.

Friend it's getting late and the sound of alarm is about to take place. We've heard the sound of the trumpet and it's called us into reconciliation with God. If we refuse and take not warning, we're going to perish. We're about to enter a season when our intercession as Saints of God will be the catalyst for the coming judgments on the earth of this last generation. If we are to take up that role as intercessors in that manner, our hearts must be right before we can judge the sin in the world. Judgment must begin at the HOUSE OF GOD it must begin with ME.

Ezek 33:4-5
4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head. 5 Since he heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had taken warning, he would have saved himself.

Joel 2:1-3
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand; [2] A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. [3] A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

As I close this journal, let me say this. There are not many generations that have been given so much luxury and blessing as this one has. We have been given the "choicest" blessings of heaven, using the words of Abraham Lincoln in 1862. We have the most wealth, the most technology, the most knowledge and the greatest resources at our fingertips to sound the trumpet call in these last days. If we misuse these resources I believe the Lord will remove these from our control and give them to another. Our nation's future hangs in the balance. As goes the church in a nation, so goes the nation. If the church in America doesn't sound the trumpet to come back to God, then who will? Our school systems? Our Congress? Our Supreme Court? It rests on our shoulders and we must hear the warning today.

To whom much is given much will be required. And to whom the trumpet warning has been given, it is our responsibility to heed the warning and do what the warning is telling us to do. The warning of today is for us to "repent," and allow Christ to change our hearts and minds. We must make our 'calling and election' SURE. I ask today that the Holy Ghost serve a "warrant," on our hearts today. If you're not where you need to be with God, I pray you will hear the sound of the trumpet and take warning. It's getting late neighbor and it's harvest time. We need to celebrate God's justice and judgments this Rosh Hashanah season. I'm happy to be living in this time of history. I'm thrilled to know we're in the finest hour of God's Kingdom on Planet Earth. We must embrace His call and character and witness the harvest prior to the Lord's Second Return.

If you're not ready for the trump of God to sound, get ready NOW friend. I'm talking about a land that is fairer than day and by the help and grace of God I'm going there today. I pray you and your family will too.  He heard the sound of the trumpet and didn't take warning. I pray that will not be you friend. Hear HIM today and be blessed. Repent and live. Submit yourselves to God and see Him work again in your life. Praise God.

Celebrate the feasts of the Lord. Let's pray:

Heavenly Father, we thank you today for Your word and the loving, gentle convicting power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Forgive us where we have ignored your warnings, time and time again, and yet remain perplexed when our lives suffer for it. Lord, you have the words of LIFE for us today. We have hardened our hearts without measure and need your touch upon our hearts today. Forgive us of our sin and remove the scales off our eyes. Lord prepare us for Your coming and help us to hear the sound of the trumpet and take warning. In Jesus name, we pray.

AMEN
